»Eurafrica«, echoing Schmitt's earlier support for aggressive German expansionism in his writings on Großraum. The article shows that Kojève's lecture prompted changes in Schmitt's international thought. While Schmitt acknowledged the new global power asymmetry between developing nations and industrialised countries, he rejected Kojève's vision of a peaceful trade architecture. In his later works, Schmitt responded to Kojève, emphasising the persistence of the political, new forms of enmity, and the impact of colonial violence on the metropoles. Schmitt also dismissed the idea of a depoliticised Großraum, anticipating an ambivalent view of a unified Europe which became a Common Market rather than a distinct political actor.
